Margaret Graduated from Camberwell School of Art and Craft, London in 1983, with a BA Hons) Degree in Woven Textile Design and Printmaking. After many years working with and teaching textiles, an opportunity came her way in 2014 to become a Harris Tweed Weaver. She began weaving for one of the mills and after 18 months became an Independent Harris Tweed Weaver and set up her business as Adabrock Weaving Company. Deciding in 2023 to work independently from the Harris Tweed industry and rebranding her tweed as ‘Hebridean Tweed’.

Hebridean Tweed is fresh and Contemporary but still holds fast to the quality and traditional techniques of handwoven Tweed, from these Islands.
The yarn is her palette, her work reflecting the colour and light which often falls into horizontal bands in the sky and mirrored on the sea near her weaving studio. Margarets collection of Hebridean Tweed is mainly formed of plain herringbones, Shadow Stripes and Ripple Stripes, in various colour ways. They all compliment and coordinate with each other, making them perfect for Soft Furnishings and will….”Bring the Outer Hebrides in to your home”

Alongside the beautifully woven Hebridean Tweed in her studio, you will also find gorgeous, cushions, throws and smaller accessories available for purchase, all handmade from her own Tweed at Adabrock.
