The coastal environment provides constant inspiration and new ideas for my printmaking. The process that begins with a sketch or a photo is then developed into a printing plate using a scalpel to incise into a card substrate and collaging textured materials, often found on the beach, to produce an image that reflects what I see around me.
My work aims to encapsulate and interpret the natural character of the islands and I am always learning and developing new ways of expressing this through the medium of print.
I run printmaking workshops in my print studio and with groups around the Isles of Lewis and Harris, always keen to share the magic of this artform.
