I was born and brought up on the Isle of Lewis and am currently studying at the University of Aberdeen, spending my time between Lewis and Aberdeen. I saw a video of someone pressing seaweed online and I thought It would be something I would like to try. I often go sea swimming and forage any seaweed that I see floating in the sea or along the shore.

There is a very large variety of seaweed in the Hebrides. I like working with it as it is a natural product and it is often something you don't think twice to look at on the beach. My favourite part is the variety of colours that are retained from pressing the seaweed to paper. Each pressed seaweed is unique and you never find two the same.
