My name is Lillian Crichton, I am an artist living on the Isle of Lewis. My inspiration comes from the light-filled coastal locations of the Hebrides. I use rich and vibrant oil paints to capture moments of beauty.

Whenever possible I work outside in the landscape rather than in the studio, as there is nothing like being immersed in the elements, battling the wind and rain and chasing the light is all part of the process. The immense beauty is right in front of your eyes! When painting, I aim to depict the essence of the subject with minimal brushstrokes. Working against the clock, making every mark count.
