Eilidh is a local artist living in Stornoway and has been working in pyrography since the late 1980s. She enjoys using the wood sourced and seasoned from the islands environment, mostly from the Castle Grounds Sawmill and driftwood from the many islands beaches. Each piece is unique and Eilidh likes each piece of wood to help guide her in by using the grain, shape and texture as to how the piece progresses. She enjoys creating her own art pieces influenced strongly in the Island and Scottish landscapes and mythology as well as the local history both current and historic. She also enjoys commission work where, along with the client is able to create unique and individual one off pieces.
